SHMS Accountants doubles in size after taking on new business
SHMS Accountants is celebrating the business doubling in size, having taken on all clients from Alan Sanders, an accountant and bookkeeper based in Lee On The Solent.
Unfortunately, Mr Sanders has made the decision to retire and sell his practice. After speaking to numerous local accountants, he chose to sell his practice to us! The acquisition became official on September 14th.
This has meant we’ve now more than doubled in size, from around 400 clients to well over 800! We’ve also been hiring new staff in the process. Two new bookkeepers have already joined us. This growth in staff means we can continue to provide the same great level of service to all clients, old and new.
Director Stephen Humphreys said about the acquisition, “I’m very excited about the prospect of acquiring the new clients from Alan! We can now increase our staff numbers and provide a better all-round service to both our current clients and the new ones.

Having recently celebrated 20 years in business, the acquisition has come at a very exciting time for the business in what was set to be (and has been) a very busy year. The SHMS Accountants team celebrated the acquisition by popping open a bottle of Bollinger and having some scones, jam, clotted cream and strawberries!
